10 Dos and Don’ts for Beautiful Skin

Healthy skin starts with daily care. Follow these practical tips recommended by Dr. Geeta Garg to keep your skin clear, hydrated and radiant.

1
🧴

Remove Makeup Before Bed

Always remove your makeup before hitting the sheets. The skin needs to breathe overnight. Use a mild cleanser for gentle removal.

2
☀️

Apply Sunscreen Daily

Use sunscreen with SPF of at least 20–25 that blocks both UVA and UVB rays. For beach or reflective surfaces (snow/ice), choose SPF 30 or higher. Lifetime sun exposure causes wrinkles, age spots and other problems.

3
🥗

Eat Skin-Friendly Food

Focus on fresh fruits, greens, sufficient protein and vitamins. A diet rich in vitamin C and low in fats and sugar promotes radiant skin. Lowering sugar helps keep insulin levels balanced.

4
🏃‍♀️

Exercise Regularly

Running, jogging or yoga improves blood circulation and accelerates the body’s natural cleansing process. You’ll notice a natural glow on your face after working out.

5
😴

Get Enough Sleep

Aim for at least 8 hours of sleep every night. Lack of sleep makes skin sag and causes under-eye bags. Always wash and moisturize your face before bed.

6
💧

Stay Hydrated

Drink at least 8 glasses of water daily. Also eat high-water-content fruits and vegetables like watermelon, cucumber, orange, strawberry and grapefruit.

7
🧼

Wash Your Face Twice Daily

Cleanse your face with warm water at least twice a day to remove dirt, oil and pollutants that accumulate throughout the day.

8
💇‍♀️

Wash Hair Regularly

Wash your hair at least twice a week with a mild shampoo to keep the scalp clean and prevent buildup that can affect skin and hair health.

9
🥥

Follow a Skin Care Routine

For dry skin, apply an emollient or coconut oil on slightly damp skin after bathing. This improves spreadability and gives skin good suppleness.

10
🧘‍♀️

Manage Stress

Stress increases cortisol and makes skin oilier, leading to breakouts. Practice breathing exercises, yoga or meditation. The more you meditate, the more you radiate.
